Economie de partage : les parapluies de Tokyo

Le 11 juin coïncide avec le début de la saison des pluies appelée Tsuyu ou Baiu , la mousson qui durera un bon mois. Les Japonais seraient les premiers consommateurs au monde de parapluies avec près de 130 millions de protections vendues chaque année. Ramenés à la population, c’est comme si chaque Nippon en achète un neuf tous les ans.  Les Tokyoïtes détiennent en moyenne 4 parapluies par habitant. Malheureusement, c’est aussi un des objets le plus oubliés voire abandonnés dans l’espace public. La compagnie de train JR (équivalent de la SNCF) recueille 2.2 millions d’objets perdus par an parmi eux près de 300 000 parapluies.

    De plus en plus sensibles aux questions environnementales et au gaspillage des objets, les Japonais, qui préfèrent d’habitude les objets neufs aux occasions, semblent prêts à partager l’usage de certains objets du quotidien en commençant par les parapluies. C’est le créneau trouvé par la start-up Nature Innovation Group fondée en 2018 dont le service appelé AIKASA (« parapluie à deux ») sera lancé le 12 juin à Tokyo dans le quartier d’Ueno. Avec le soutien de la compagnie de train privée Keisei, près de 1000 parapluies seront répartis sur 50 points de location en libre-service situés principalement dans les gares, les grands magasins ou dans le zoo fameux zoo d’Ueno. A l’instar d’autres services de partage, les utilisateurs déverrouillent les parapluies à l’aide d’une application qui scanne les QR codes. Le prix de la location est de 70 JPY par jour (0.60 EUR).
