Les konbinis vendront les aliments invendus à prix réduit

Les pertes alimentaires représentent 640 000 tonnes au Japon. C’est comme si chaque Japonais jetait un bol de riz par personne et par jour.

Les grandes enseignes de konbinis (supérettes de proximité ouvertes 24h/24h) comme Seven Eleven réagissent en baissant les prix des aliments dont la DLC (date limite de consommation) arrive à la fin.

Un choix pour soutenir les magasins franchisés

Seven Eleven baissera les prix des aliments invendus dans ses 20 000 konbinis du Japon à partir de cet automne.  La maison mère absorbera les pertes financières tandis que les franchisés pourront espérer réduire la quantité d’aliments à détruire et économiser le coût des destructions qu’ils devront prendre en charge.

Concrètement les plats préparés comme les onigiris ,  les bentos, les sandwichs et les plats de nouilles dont la DLC est inférieure à cinq heures seront vendus à prix réduit. Tout client qui utilisera la carte de paiement dématérialisé appelée « nanaco » bénéficiera une ristourne de 5% sur les aliments concernés. Aujourd’hui les patrons des magasins franchisés prennent en charge à hauteur de 85% du coût de la destruction des produits invendus. S’il y a moins d’invendus c’est autant de marchandises à détruire en moins qui réduiront sûrement le coût de gestion.

Une bonne nouvelle pour les gérants des supérettes qui souffrent déjà de la pénurie de main d’œuvre et des difficultés chroniques de gestion, tandis que la maison mère avait gardé jusque-là le contrôle total des prix affichés. La direction de Seven Eleven avait été condamnée en 2009 par l’autorité de surveillance de la concurrence pour ne pas laisser les franchisés fixer librement les prix. Cependant dans les faits, cette condamnation n’avait eu que peu d’effet jusqu’à la décision d’aujourd’hui.

Le 17 mai, la chaîne Lawson a de son côté annoncé qu’elle allait expérimenter la baisse des prix des aliments invendus dans ses quelques 450 konbinis des  préfectures d’Ehime et Okinawa entre le 11 juin et le 31 août.  Tous les jours à partir de 16 heures les articles concernés seront signalés et les acheteurs détenteurs de la carte de paiement dématérialisée « Ponta » seront récompensés par des gains de points de réduction soit 5 points par 100JPY d’achat.

Le PDG de la chaîne Lawson M.Sadanobu TAKEMASU rappelle que «les deux grands postes de dépenses sont le salaire et la gestion des déchets. Nous allons communiquer à nos clients de coopérer pour réduire au maximum les pertes des produits achetés ». En 2017 Lawson a jeté 44000 tonnes d’aliments invendus, les onigiris et les bentos représentaient 10%.
