NISSAN a publié le résultat trimestriel d’avril à juin. Le résultat opérationnel a été désastreux avec une baisse de près de 99% par rapport à la même période de l’année précédente. Il s’est établi à 1.6 milliards JPY (132.3 millions EUR) .
Devant les médias réunis le 25 juillet à la présentation du bilan trimestriel, le PDG de la firme M.Hiroto SAIKAWA a dévoilé le plan d’action jusqu’à 2022
Deux ans pour redresser les résultats
Le directeur financier M.Hiroshi KARUBE a pris la parole en premier et a souligné que le montant du résultat opérationnel bien que très en-deçà de l’objectif, avait été anticipé. Le chiffre serait même légèrement en-dessous du niveau attendu. M.SAIKAWA a pris ensuite le relai pour détailler la stratégie à moyen terme.
D’abord, NISSAN a revu en baisse sa prévision de chiffres d’affaires qui s’établira autour de 14500 milliards JPY (116 milliards EUR) à l’horizon 2022 pour viser 6% de bénéfice opérationnel au lieu de 8% annoncés lors de la précédente présentation. Cet objectif révisé correspondra à 6 millions de véhicules qui seront vendus dans le monde. A un journaliste qui pointe du doigt le risque encouru par la mauvaise performance du groupe, M. SAIKAWA a affirmé pouvoir renouer avec les bénéfices dès la seconde moitié de l’exercice 2019.
Le point fort de la présentation s’est focalisé sur le plan de restructuration déjà lancé depuis 2018. En effet le PDG a tenue à rassurer l’auditoire en faisant état des économies déjà réalisées sur la main d’œuvre avec la fermeture des lignes de productions dans 8 sites identifiés auxquels s’ajouteront 6 autres. Nissan a déjà supprimé 6400 jusqu’à aujourd’hui et 6100 autres seront supprimés avant 2022. Au total il aura licencié pas moins de 12500 employés d’ici 3 ans dont le coût exact n’a pas été dévoilé. A ce sujet M. SAIKAWA est resté vague tout en expliquant que tous les coûts liés aux départs des employés seront provisionnés au fur et à mesure dans le compte. Le directeur financier M. KAURBE de conclure « Nissan a provisionné jusqu’en 2018, 40 milliards JPY (320 millions EUR) pour le plan de licenciement. Il aura coûté autant lorsqu’il sera achevé en 2022 ».
Par ailleurs, concernant les éventuelles fermetures d’usines ou de cession des activités, Nissan va procéder à la fermeture d’un certain nombre d’usines déficitaires à l’étranger, spécialisées dans la fabrication des petits modèles comme le « Datsun ». Une critique à peine voilée du plan de croissance à moyen terme appelé « POWER 88 » qui avait initié par l’ex PDG Carlos GHOSN. En effet, celui-ci croyait fort à la stratégie de volume et à la production en masse des petits véhicules.
En conséquence, NISSAN semble décidé à adopter une stratégie d’écrémage en Amérique du nord, son principal marché. Il se concentrera sur ses modèles haut de gamme, comme l’« INFINITI » , avec un objectif de ventes de 1.4 millions d’exemplaires durant l’année à venir dans cette région du monde. Toutefois, M.SAIKAWA est resté prudent sur l’évolution des demandes américaines pour illustrer l’incertitude que fait peser les tensions commerciales internationales actuelles et leurs effets à moyen terme.
La présentation s’est achevée sur la nécessité de faire impliquer davantage de jeunes dans le management de l’entreprise. Les dirigeants actuels continueront à exercer leur fonction et assumer les résultats du groupe jusqu’ en 2022 mais au-delà, la firme nippone a fait savoir qu’elle laissera les rênes de la gestion à la génération suivante.
